Cisco Tip: How to Erase Cisco Router and Switch Configurations
If you need to erase your switch and/or router configurations, here is what you need to do in enable mode:
Switch

clear config all
Router
---------
erase nvram:
NOTE: erase nvram: has replaced the write erase command.

With this command, you will learn not only about the speed and duplex of your switch ports, but also whether portfast is enabled on them or if you have any SPAN ports.
